glowy, hydrated skin is calling – an honest review of face fog

Autumn is here; the nights are drawing in like a warm blanket, the mornings are cool with the first hints of misty breath and rosy cheeks, the pace of life is slowing somewhat as we slouch towards the darker days. Every season is the time of self-care, but there is something about autumn that cries out for long hot showers and walks wrapped up in your favourite coat and scarf to watch the golden hues creep into the landscape once again. The instinctive desire to prepare for the winter months is inescapable – and what better way to slip into the fall mood than by indulging in some absolutely divine skincare rituals?

Calling Beauty’s Face Fog is the perfect product for any makeup and skincare routine, and I mean it. It’s a fine face mist with a beautifully light scent that freshens up the skin and leaves you feeling hydrated and dewy. Founder Sabah Yaqoob is clearly a girl’s girl – this product has been practically yet elegantly formulated with its users in mind, specifically the city girl, the get-up-and-go girl. Even with only one product so far in Calling’s online shop, the brand’s identity is undeniable. Brown tones, New York City in the 90s, autumn leaves, warm jumpers, and late night calls while wrapping the dark phone cord coyly around your fingers. It’s understatedly feminine and goes beyond trends – in short, this glow is forever.

Face Fog is vegan, and composed of a blend of water-based and oil-based products. The formula itself is divine and refreshing, and the component is chic and stylish with a gentle misting action that doesn’t drench your skin, instead leaving a dewy glow across your face that melts onto bare skin, or infuses with your skincare and base makeup to give lasting light.

I’ve almost finished my first bottle of Face Fog, and my personal tip for this product is for all my sensitive-skinned friends; spray a little bit of Face Fog onto a beauty blender in place of setting spray to keep your makeup hydrated as you blend it into your skin. Set with a bit of pressed powder, and you’re looking at all day dew.

Calling Beauty’s first product is a win for me – and the brand’s strong presence on social media had me hooked from the first time my gaze fell upon the toasty cinnamon brown tones of its branding. I can safely say that Face Fog will be in my daily rotation for a long time to come!

Any upcoming products will be finding their way into my cart as soon as they’re online – I’m holding out for lip products!

Face Fog is available online at callingbeauty.com – £37 per 86ml bottle
